Project Wheely (Motor-kit for Wheelchairs)

Abstract
Project Wheely is a motor kit and control interface that mounts onto most types of non-powered wheelchairs that are already on the market. The kit consists of two motors that attached to two of the wheelchair wheels, a battery that attaches under the seat, and a control joystick that attaches to one of the armrests. The project is designed in such a way that it is versatile enough to fit a range of models and sizes of wheelchairs without requiring any modifications or causing any damage to wheelchair itself. Community Benefit: Project Wheely aims to provide mobility to individuals that either cannot afford a powered wheelchair or do not have insurance that covers powered wheelchair options, including individuals who have a temporary need for wheelchairs (rehabilitation, post-surgery, etc.)
