Abstract
Alpha Blending applications are a core functionality of image editors like Photoshop. Our project focuses on creating an image processing prototype using a FPGA as the hardware’s main processing power. Our prototype is able to take multiple video signals and process them through a specialized device that will blend the videos to the user’s liking using an alpha blending interface. Using VHDL users have the ability to tweak the image to fit any screen resolution. This allows for a different type of implementation of special effects or transitions such as fading in and out of two frames which creates a fresh way to create and enjoy entertainment.
