Smart Child Car Seat (ZACE)
Abstract
Keeping children and babies safe in a vehicle when the unexpected happens is of paramount concern and requires an innovative solution to help achieve that goal. The vision and objective of this project was to establish a smart child car seat that efficiently and precisely monitors the location of the occupant while measuring temperature, the presence of a child, levels of carbon monoxide, heart rate of the occupant and more in real time. The car seat is paired with a mobile application that is designed to alert the user when their child is left behind. Additionally, we have provided optimal comfort and undistracted driving by utilizing a camera feed, lullaby options, soothing vibration, and a temperature activated cooling safety fan. All this functionality is brought to the user through an application interface and via notifications to help prioritize and ensure the occupants safety and wellbeing. Overall, the ZACE Smart Child Car Seat combined with a robust user-friendly android application is designed and implemented to provide both ease of mind for parents, and a comfortable, soothing ride for children.
