Abstract

Engineering Done Better was tasked with designing proposed affordable housing opportunities for residents in Broward County. The Fort Lauderdale Housing Authority is considering three parcels in the Broadview neighborhood just west of US 441 in unincorporated Broward County as a suitable site location. Maximizing density, current zoning and fitting in with the neighborhood characteristics was our major design goal for this project. In addition, the site is relatively flat and drainage systems and onsite storage had to be designed to assure positive drainage away from buildings. New landscaping plans were included in our design to replace trees and other vegetation that will have to be removed due to new construction.
