Automated Attendance System

Abstract

We are developing a system where end users can keep track of the attendance of students or employees using facial recognition. Our Automated Attendance System takes a picture of the room with two Logitech C920s Cameras and with an Amazon Rekognition. The system identifies who is in the photo and updates an attendance record. The system allows the end user to take photos through the push of a button so they do not have to connect a keyboard to the Jetson Nano. A LCD screen prompts the end user about what is going on in the background. Once the image is taken the user will be alerted. The user is also alerted once the image is uploaded to AWS. The images taken by the two C920 cameras will be uploaded to AWS S3 and then those images will be compared with other facial images we have stored using Amazons Rekognition software. Using our web App, the results will then be displayed in an easily understandable manner.
