BookWyrm Federated Book Review
Overview
BookWyrm is a federated social reading platform that allows users to track readings, review books, and follow their friends book activities. Discovery by genre on the current federated instances of BookWyrm is non-existent, making it difficult to find new books from targeted topics. The goal of this project is to solve this issue by adding the ability to categorize and search for books by genre, suggest new genres for books, follow genres, and receive updates on books added to followed genres. Admin functionality will also be implemented, allowing the management of genres in individual instances.
Community Benefit
Our project will help improve the user experience of social book readers that choose to use the BookWyrm platform. Furthermore, it will help facilitate the discovery of books by allowing users to find books relating to specific topics and categories of interest.
