Aquatic Engineering Solutions (AES)

Abstract

The City of West Melbourne has asked Aquatic Engineering Solutions (AES) to develop a 2.5 MGD Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant at a cost of around $25 million. The water plant is an essential facility and must be designed to withstand a Category V hurricane. The facility also needs to reach LEED Gold certification along with retaining storm drainage on site. Site security is required and the site shall be completely accessible in strict accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. And finally, the site and building will be designed to allow flexibility for future program growth and change. As such, AES has developed a site plan and floor plan for the proposed water treatment plant at the City of West Melbourne’s existing Public Works Facility and believes this design to be the best option in view of the client’s requirements. The AES design meets the minimum 2.5 MGD capacity while accommodating for future growth and expansion by considering and designating space for a future water storage tank and reverse osmosis skid. AES strives to meet the needs of the client and the increasing demand for clean drinking water for the City of West Melbourne. Aquatic Engineering Solutions is servicing the city of West Melbourne and therefore its people. As a growing community, they need a facility that will be capable of providing clean drinking water to not only their current population but also their future population.
