- Amirjavad Ahmadian Hosseini won the first-place poster presentation award at the doctoral level. He is currently completing his PhD studies under Dr. Lashaki's supervision.
- Ryan Thomas received the first-place master’s thesis award. He completed his master’s degree in civil engineering under Dr. Lashaki's supervision last December.
- Brandyn Nutter won the third-place poster presentation award at the doctoral level. He is currently completing his PhD studies under Dr. Lashaki's supervision.

FAU Broward Achievement Awards were presented at the Dania, Davie, and Fort Lauderdale campuses. Among the winners were Dr. Jahandar Lashaki, who won Faculty Member of the Year for the Dania campus, and Amirjavad Ahmadian Hosseini, who won Graduate Owl of the Year for the Dania campus. FAU’s proposal, in which Dr. Jahandar Lashaki was a Co-Investigator, was funded by the United States Department of Defense to purchase a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) for research and educational activities.
Dr. Jahandar Lashaki co-organized and presented at a webinar series, entitled "Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage – Challenges and Opportunities", held by the Air & Waste Management Association. The webinar series provided the fundamental information to understand CCUS, carbon capture technologies, process design, costs, and performance, as well as an overview of the U.S. Department of Energy’s and Environmental Protection Agency’s programs, regulations, and policies for CCUS.
