FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science Continues its Steep Ascent in National Rankings

Florida Atlantic College of Engineering and Computer Science (COECS) reached a significant milestone, climbing to the 91st position among public institutions in the latest 2025 U.S. News & World Report Graduate Rankings. This latest eight-position leap from last year underscores the college's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation.

The Florida Atlantic College of Engineering and Computer Science was ranked for the first time in its history by U.S. News & World Report Graduate Rankings just a year ago (2024 rankings), reaching, in one shot, top 100 ranking among public engineering colleges in the nation in the 99th position. All graduate programs of the College are also individually ranked attesting to the high quality and impact of Florida Atlantic’s engineering education and research.

The U.S. News & World Report Graduate Rankings are determined by a combination of factors, including research funding, scholarly publications and their impact, student acceptance rates, graduate degrees awarded, and student-to-faculty ratio, alongside evaluations by academic peers and industry professionals. The rise to 91st place reflects the college's strengths in these areas and its continuous efforts to improve and innovate.

The undergraduate programs at FAU's College of Engineering and Computer Science have also seen remarkable progress. Over the past three years, the college has been positioned as one of the top three fastest-rising engineering colleges in the United States as it moved upwards a total of 34 positions the U.S. News & World Report Undergraduate Rankings placing in position 103 among public universities.
