Improvement & Assessment
Assessment and Continuous Improvement: The College of Engineering and Computer Science seeks to provide superior learning experiences and professional development opportunities for its students. Faculty in each academic program in the College review the curriculum requirements for their program on a yearly basis and make recommendations for change and improvement. Student performance is assessed to insure that the degree requirements are being met by graduates. Each program has developed and put in place specific assessment procedures for the program courses which evaluate student performance on a semester basis. The results of these procedures are reviewed by faculty and utilized to make appropriate adjustments to the program when necessary to insure continuous quality improvement and meet accreditation requirements.
Accreditation: The Baccalaureate degree programs in Civil, Computer, Electrical, Geomatics, Mechanical and Ocean Engineering are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. The baccalaureate program in Computer Science is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET (abet.org).
Florida Atlantic University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) Commission on Colleges (sacscoc.org) to award associate, bachelor, masters, specialist and doctoral degrees which include all Baccalaureate and Graduate degree programs in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.
