Gangal Family Endowed Graduate Scholarship
Award available to a full-time master or PhD student in the College of Engineering and Computer Science who has a minimum 3.5 GPA. The applicant must be an international student from India or a student of Indian descent. Preference will be given to students studying biomedical engineering. Funds will be disbursed in consecutive fall/spring or spring/fall semesters. To be eligible, students must be enrolled full time in the semesters when they receive the scholarship. Applicants must have not previously won this award.
Jaime A. Borras Family Endowed Scholarship
One thousand dollar award available to a full-time master or PhD student in the College of Engineering and Comptuer Science who has a minimum 3.6 GPA and has demonstrated evidence of research activity during their graduate program at FAU. Applicants must submit a CV in addition to the other application documents. The CV must include the list of publications, which must include the full list of authors and the submission status (e.g. submitted, accepted, published). Funds will be disbursed in the spring semester, so applicants must be enrolled in the spring semester to be eligible.
Dr. Steven G. Schock Scholarship
The purpose of this $1,000 fund is to provide educational and/or research opportunities to students and/or faculty of the College of Engineering and Computer Science. The scholarship will be presented to a graduate student in the FAU College of Engineering and Computer Science who is pursuing an advanced degree in ocean engineering, electrical engineering or computer science and has an interest in underwater acoustic technology with the intent of having a career in this field. This may include scientific research, design and development of instrumentation or the application of the technology to address known or future needs. In addition to the award, the candidate may have an opportunity to receive a paid internship for a semester at EdgeTech in Boca Raton, FL (per signed gift agreement 2011).
International Graduate Student Scholarships
Latin American and Caribbear (LAC) Graduate Student Scholarship
FAU has established a scholarship for international students who are citizens of Latin America and Caribbean countries and are interested in pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in an engineering or computer science degree program. Student recipients will be considered as Florida residents for tuition purposes only, under the provisions of Section 1009.21(10) (e) of the Florida Statutes, and will receive a stipend of $500 per semester. The scholarship is provided for the duration of the student’s degree, subject to availability of funds, as long as the student enrolls full-time and is in good standing with the University.
The award is an established scholarship that is offered on the basis of existing policies and guidelines, and the selection process is open and competitive.
FAU Scholarships and Fellowships
The University offers additional scholarships and fellowships for graduate students, such as the Graduate Diversity Fellowship, Graduate Fellowship for Academic Excellence, and Thesis and Dissertation Scholarship.
