NRT Trainees Win 2nd Place at AI Hackaton, Engineers Week Event 2024

What a delight to celebrate our NRT trainees winning a spotligt at the AI Hackaton event hosted by the College of Engineering & Computer Science. This event was organized as part of a series of activities to celebrate Engineers Week (E-Week) which kicked off on Monday, February 19, and ran through Saturday, February 24. Students were asked to craft smart devices aimed at solving real-world problems through image and video processing. 

The team consisting of Juan Merlos, Ashan Perera, and Eimran Eimon won second place, the Innovative Solution Award, which came with a $3,000 prize for the team. Their project focused on better methods to determine object detection/classification dataset validity/reliability.

Once again, the trainees show their remarkable talent, creativity, and innovation as well as their team building capabilities.
