Trainees Presenting

May 3rd, 2024, marks the last day of our spring semester for trainees in cohort 3. Our students have taken their final exams and have shown tremendous efforts.

This semester trainees have engaged with research from different academic areas such as Cybersecurity, Mechanical Engineering, Video Communications, Medicine, and Data Science. Aside from students authoring their own research, they also collaborated within different labs and worked on real-life interdisciplinary projects which some have been showcased as important research from the department. One example is" In-Vehicle Sensors Help Detect Cognitive Changes in Older Drivers ".

Some of the trainees have submitted work for publication from which at least one has been confirmed published!  We are delighted on the progress and efforts the students are putting into their education. Their experience extends to interpersonal, soft skills having had several opportunities to take part in oral presentations, experienced many interactions with different personnel from research labs as well as invited guest speakers from industry and other departments.

To further develop students' skills, knowledge, and competencies needed on any STEM career, our trainees will be participating on the Clifton Strength Summer Workshop series hosted by Auburn's NSF Research Traineeship. The intreactive workshops will provide personalized strategies that trainees can put into practice immediatedly. The topics being covered are:

The workshops are being faciciliated by Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, Dr. Lisa Knesler. We are excited to have trainees collaborating with Auburn's Univeristy!

It is good to have a successful closure to the semester. We are certain that trainees will thrive this summer semester as they come close to the finish line to conclude their NRT Program.
