Math & Computer Tutoring/Mentorship
FAU offers HSI program students access to student mentors who provide support, encouragement and tutoring to first time freshman at FAU and transfer students from BC and PBSC.
- Free course specific mentoring and tutoring (College Algebra, Pre-calculus Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I, Introduction to Programming in C)
The FAU HSI program mentors are paired with students by major at the beginning of the semester until the end of the academic year. Mentors provide tutoring, study strategies, peer support and advice on how to successfully navigate through their degree programs.
HSI program mentors are FAU computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering students who have demonstrated exemplary excellence at FAU. Mentors gain an opportunity to build their leadership skills and receive paid compensation while helping other students succeed.
For information on how to become a mentor, please email hsi@eng.fau.edu
