Professional Master’s Degree Program in Computer Science
On Campus and Fully Online
The Professional MS in Computer Science program is designed specifically for working professionals. They will be able to advance their career with an accelerated graduate program and obtain an advanced degree while continuing their professional career. Courses in the program expose students to the latest advances in various areas such as deep learning, artificial intelligence, data science, advanced programming methodologies, software engineering, database systems, cybersecurity, IoT and smart systems, cloud computing, and healthcare informatics. The course offering format includes evenings, weekends, and online material using Canvas. The Professional MS in Computer Science has 30 graduate credits. Each course duration is 4 or 8 weeks. The students will be able to complete the program in 1.5 years. Only the non-thesis option is available. The program can be completed on campus or fully online.

Admission Requirements
Students are expected to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field with a GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 credits attempted prior to graduation. Applicants with a different background are encouraged to apply. Students are expected to be proficient in programming and to have taken calculus 2 and a statistics course, as well as being knowledgeable in the topics of data structures, algorithm design and analysis, operating systems, and computer architecture. The admission committee will evaluate the application holistically to determine applicant suitability using several factors such as academic performance, GPA, background and experience. The admission committee may assign remedial courses on a case-by-case basis. The GRE is not required for this program.
International students must provide Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores.
Degree Requirements
The Professional MS in Computer Science program requires a minimum of 30 credits with the following requirements: a minimum of 3 credits from Theory and Algorithms (graduate course prefix COT), a minimum of 3 credits from Software and Programming (graduate course prefix COP or CEN), and a minimum of 3 credits from Systems and Applications (graduate course prefix CAP, CIS, CNT, or CDA). Please note that courses COT 5930, COT 6930, COT 6900, and COT 6905 can be counted to satisfy the Theory and Algorithms requirement only with the prior approval of the advisor.
Students must satisfy all of the University graduate requirements. In addition, the following requirements must be met:
- Must have a GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or better.
- All courses in the degree program must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.
- At least one-half of the credits must be at the 6000 level.

Program Fees
The Professional MS in Computer Science is a full-service, all-inclusive program. Professional MS in Computer Science Program fees cover all program costs, including tuition, meals for on-campus Saturday classes, course materials and graduation activities.
Total Cost: $800 per credit-hour; total cost for 30 credit-hours is $24,000.
