About Dr. Yufei Tang
Dr. Yufei Tang is an Associate Professor within the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and the Director of the FPL Center of Intelligent Energy Technologies (InETech) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island (URI) in 2016. Over the past 10 years, Dr. Tang’s research contributions have primarily focused on the development and implementation of advanced computational methods and artificial intelligence-based algorithms for engineering applications. He develops theories and algorithms of big data analytics using machine learning (e.g., graph learning, physics-informed machine learning) for predictive condition monitoring of critical devices, control co-design of energy systems, smart grid cybersecurity, and environment monitoring. Dr. Tang has authored/co-authored over 130 refereed journal and conference papers. He is a recipient of several awards including the 2010 International Conference on Communications (ICC) Best Paper Award, the 2012 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting Best Paper Award, the 2022 American Control Conference Best Paper Award Runner-Up, a 2019 National Academies Gulf Research Program Early-Career Research Fellow, and a 2022 National Science Foundation CAREER Award.
