District Teachers and Mentors

All of our Teacher Preparation programs (Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Exceptional Student Education, Educational Leadership, and School Counseling) provide supervised clinical experiences. To accomplish this, we rely heavily on classroom teachers and mentors from our partnering school districts.

Clinical Educator Training

Classroom teachers and mentors who wish to host a pre-service candidate must complete a Clinical Educator Training. FAU’s College of Education offers several sessions throughout the year. Certificate of Participation Requests

Supervising Teachers and Mentors have the opportunity to receive a Certificate of Participation voucher for participation during the internship semester.

The certificate is good for the matriculation fees of up to 6 credit hours of coursework during one semester of study at a university within the state of Florida. Each certificate is effective for 3 years, is not transferable, and issued only by request to the Office for School Engagement.
