FAU Professor Receives NAME’s Educator of the Year Award

Dilys Schoorman, Ph.D., professor, Department of Curriculum and Instruction within Florida Atlantic University’s College of Education received the 2024 G. Pritchy Smith Educator of the Year award from the National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) during its annual conference, Anaheim, Calif., Nov. 16, 2024. Criteria for the award included evidence of long term, scholarly commitment to teaching from a multicultural perspective; the ability to blend theory with practice; and serving as an example of multicultural ideas and practices. Her nomination by a member of NAME’s Executive Board highlighted her long-term advancement of the field and her scholarship in direct service to the organization.
