Proposal Guidelines
The Office of Appreciative Education at Florida Atlantic University is now accepting epic and interactive session proposals for the 2025 Virtual Appreciative Education Conference. We seek dynamic proposals on topics related to Appreciative Education from energetic presenters. In creative and interactive presentations, educators will share how they utilize an Appreciative approach to support and challenge students, their campuses, and/or themselves to reach their potential. Appreciative Education Conference attendees will include PreK-12 teachers and administrators; higher education faculty, staff, and Administrators; students of all ages; and community leaders. Although there will be sessions geared specifically toward PreK-12 and higher education audiences, we seek presenters who make their material applicable to educators working at all levels. The concurrent sessions are 50-minutes long, and accepted proposals will highlight plans for engaging the audience.
The deadline for proposal submission is July 1, 2024. Notification of Acceptance of Proposals will be emailed by August 30, 2024. If your proposal is accepted, you must register for the conference by October 1, 2024, and we will notify you of your scheduled concurrent session time by December 10, 2024.
Within the proposal submission form, you will select the concurrent session type, intended audience sector, and Appreciative topic track(s) that best describe your presentation.
Concurrent Session Type (pick one):

- Innovative Practice
Intended Audience Sector (pick one):
- Higher Education
- PreK-12
- PreK-16 (PreK-12 & Higher Education audiences)
- Other
Appreciative Topic Tracks (pick one to three)
Appreciative Advising, Coaching, & Mentoring: focuses on the one-on-one relationship built with students, whether an advisor, coach, mentor, etc.
Appreciative Administration: entails aspects of being a supervisor or administrator who employs an Appreciative Approach.
Appreciative Instruction: relates to how the Appreciative Education framework is applied within the classroom setting.
Appreciative Campus: emphasizes how the framework is being adopted by colleges, universities, or PreK-12 institutions campus-wide.
Appreciative Inquiry: focuses on how the Appreciative Inquiry framework is being implemented to improve engagement and organizational culture within educational settings.
Additionally, you will be asked to provide the following in the proposal submission form:
- Title (max. 20 words)
- Presenters
- Abstract (max. 120 words)
- Learning Outcomes (max. 120 words)
- 50-minute Concurrent Session Presentation Outline, including the format of the activities and the amount of time planned for each component. Note: Please allow the final 5-10 minutes for Q&A and session evaluation completion. (max. 250 words.)
