The Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization track meets all the academic requirements leading to licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor by the Florida Department of Health.
The Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling specialization meets all academic requirements leading to national certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and other national rehabilitation certifications.
The School Counseling specialization meets all certification requirements of the Florida Department of Education, and meets or exceeds all national standards relative to the school counseling field.
The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and Florida Atlantic University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges or SACSCOC.
The faculty of the Department of Counselor Education has earned Council for Accreditation in Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) certification until October 2024 in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling, and doctoral programs.
