History (EIS)
As a foundational discipline, History provides the student with the opportunity to develop and hone their critical thinking and writing skills. Not only are students exposed to a variety of world views throughout the course of their training—world views that expand their intellectual potential for growth—they also gain valuable experience in individualized learning and research and the practical application of these skills in a variety of venues. Although some History majors decide to remain in an academic setting, pursuing post-graduate degrees (i.e., MA, PhD) or teaching at the K-12 level, the majority of History majors put their skills to use in the public and private sectors.
