Fequently Asked Questions:
How old do I have to be in order to climb?
You must be 18 or older to climb.
If you are younger than 18 and have a parent with you, you are still not eligible to climb in our center.
Can I bring my own climbing equipment (shoes, harness, hardware)?
Equipment including ropes, harnesses, helmets, belay devices, and anchors are provided. You may use your own shoes, harness and helmet; however, you assume all liability resulting from its use. Personal ropes are not allowed.
Do you provide chalk?
We do not provide any chalk.
Can I bring my family members and/or friends to watch me climb?
Yes!
. Family members can come to watch. They will have to sign a release of liability and will not be allowed to climb unless they purchase a climbing pass. Family members under the age of 18 are not allowed in the climbing center.
Can I purchase a pass at the Climb Center?
Our staff does not sell passes on site. You can use your phone and access
FAU Marketplace website
to purchase daily passes. Monthly passes must be purchased at the membership office during office hours.
Monday – Friday from 11am – 7 p.m.
If I know how to belay, can I belay my friends?
No
. Only FAU Climbing Staff and participants wearing Belay Tags are eligible to belay climbers. Belay Tags will be issued to participants who have successfully demonstrated belay skills. Belay Tags must be visibly displayed on your harness.
Can my friend and I climb with one climbing pass?
No
. Each participant must buy their own climbing pass.
