Workforce Innovations Network

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is proud to introduce the Workforce Innovations Network (WIN). This dynamic initiative, led by Colin Polsky, Ph.D. , Associate Vice President for FAU Broward Campuses, is designed to expand career pathways, drive workforce development, and strengthen industry and community partnerships.
Our vision is to help South Florida thrive by creating and delivering innovative and cutting-edge trainings that are aligned with a constantly evolving set of workforce needs.
To realize this vision, we are creating a regional network of education, research, and entrepreneurship professionals dedicated to creating a whole whose value is greater than the sum of its parts.
The WIN network is composed of businesses, local governments, non-profits, and educators (universities; community colleges; and vocational, middle, and high schools).
Our region is fortunate to have many groups who already excel in promoting a healthy workforce.
That said, for South Florida to compete globally and to reach its full potential, we are launching WIN to fill two gaps:
1. A convening group to match businesses, local governments, and non-profits with well-trained workers in high-demand fields. Some of these employment areas are familiar (such as nursing), others are emerging (such as ocean technologies), and all are affected by broader trends in the economy (such as the impressive growth of artificial intelligence, and the unmet demand for transferable skills).
2. An applied think tank to devise and implement new learning models that suit not only full-time students but also part-time, lifelong learners – and these new models must be inexpensive, effective, and scalable to mass audiences.
We welcome your input and participation! Students, professionals, businesses, and community leaders are all invited to explore how they can get involved. Together, we are shaping the future of work – one opportunity at a time.
