FAU Broward Specific Scholarships

Scholarship Fund

The Hundred Club of Broward County, Inc.

The Hundred Club of Broward County, Inc. established a scholarship to assist in paying for the educational-related expenses of full-time and part-time degree seeking students making satisfactory academic progress by maintaining a minimum grade point average of 2.0 while enrolled at FAU.

 

Recipients must be:

  • dependent spouses and children of law enforcement officers/firefighters/peace officers who while in the employ of the political Subdivision of Broward County, or while in the employ of any other political subdivision of the State of Florida, located in Broward County, Florida, or while in the employ within the geographical limits of Broward County, or while acting officially with proper authority for other persons or organizations located in Broward County, Florida, have lost their lives in the line of duty;

  • dependent spouses and children of persons who, though not members of the classes of persons described previously, have lost their lives as a result of their activities in defending, protecting or assisting any of the said persons in the performance of their duties and any of the previously described persons and their dependent spouses and children, who has been adjudged permanently disabled by reason of injuries sustained while acting in the line of duty or while defending, protecting or assisting any members of said classes in the performance of their duties.

Recipients may also be the dependent, spouse or child of a living able bodied Broward County law enforcement officer/firefighter/peace officer or dependent spouse and child of a Veteran killed in the line of duty. Student must submit proof of their relationship as a dependent spouse or child of law enforcement office/firefighter/peace officer/ veteran or qualified individual killed or disabled while providing assistance to the fore mentioned persons.

Application Deadline: Due on August 20th for the Fall semester, and January 20th for the Spring semester.


Broward Vision Scholarship

The Broward Vision Scholarship offers scholarships to both current and incoming undergraduate and graduate students. Awards are based on merit and demonstrated financial need. Awards start at a minimum of $500. Recipients may reapply each semester.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be admitted to the university as a degree seeking student
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen
  • Enrolled in at least 9 credits undergraduate or 6 credits graduate
  • At least 50 percent of enrolled credit hours are on an FAU Broward campus – Dania Beach, Davie, or Fort Lauderdale Campus. Online courses offered by FAU Broward based faculty will count towards this percentage.

Application Deadline: Due on August 20th for the Fall semester, and January 20th for the Spring semester.


LINK Scholarship

Limited awards of $2,000 per year to LINK participants. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. Renewable for up to two years while a full-time student at FAU. A scholarship application is not required for this award, however, students must be registered in the LINK Transfer Success Program, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and meet with their LINK Advisor at least two times prior to transferring for consideration.

Applicants will also need to submit an essay of no more than 300 words, stating how you plan to make a difference in your career field with your FAU degree. Essays should be sent to admissions@fau.edu.

Out-of-State Tuition Waiver

These awards are for transfer students paying out-of-state tuition. Students must be taking at least 50% of coursework on a FAU Broward Campus including campuses in Davie, Fort Lauderdale and Dania Beach.

Newly admitted student must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and current students must have a 3.3 FAU cumulative GPA. Students must be registered for Fall 2020 classes prior to applying.
