Event Guidelines
The BREEZEWAY DIALOGUES series demonstrates and reminds FAU students how to engage in difficult conversations civilly and productively by showcasing effective public speaking and debating techniques. Each event in the series provides opportunities for students to watch, learn and participate in discussions on important, often controversial issues of our times.
The Relevance of the Series:
The BREEZEWAY DIALOGUES series is uniquely designed to reinforce communication skills as an art form in the pursuit of civil discourse. By observing and interacting with expert panelists and debaters accomplished in the art of communication and oratory expertise, students will model how to successfully organize, present, listen and problem solve as they engage in dialogues with different, often conflicting perspectives.
How to Benefit:
Whether as a member of the audience or as a panelist, students have the opportunity to ask serious and thoughtful questions, offer contextual comments on the topic discussed and even get the chance to respectfully speak their mind. Timely, critical and contextual comments can resonate with others while also reinforcing communication skills, which are essential for success in the workforce and any leadership role. Learn More
