The South Florida Storytelling Project (SFSP) at Florida Atlantic University is dedicated to advancing the knowledge, appreciation and application of storytelling through classes, workshops, publications, community and university outreach, networking and other initiatives. The program includes storytelling classes, a resource center, annual public storytelling programs throughout the university system, service learning and other outreach within and outside the university and in the community, and a bi-annual journal, Storytelling, Self, Society: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Storytelling Studies (published by Taylor & Francis). We also sponsor the Storytelling Club at FAU. SFSP is affiliated with the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters and is a program of the School of Arts. It is directed by Caren S. Neile, MFA, Ph.D., Artist-in-residence in the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies.
