The FAU UDHR Community Art Project will be available for attendees’ participation all day during the event. This project is led by Vicki Rosenthal.

Vicki Rosenthal is a creative of social justice (an artivist) advancing advocacy through art using authentic stories to create understanding and equity. Her artistic works include distinctive designs on apparel, paintings, and public art installations, and creating community art workshops. For all artwork sold, 10% of net profits go to grassroots causes. 

Vicki Rosenthal Artwork - Racial Justice and EqualityCurrently in 2024, she has created and implemented Vote 2024 "Get Out The Vote" Art Civic Engagement Workshop at Plunge Beach Resort, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, "Soccer for All - FairTrade Community Art Workshops & Soccer Game" for the City of Pompano Beach McNair Recreation Center, and two community involvement projects for Art13 "Walk On 13" events in Fort Lauderdale. In July, she (the illustrator) and the author of the children's book, "Summer's Sidewalk Messages", presented 'Meet the Author and Illustrator Storytime & Coloring Sheets' at Broward Co. Library-Imperial Point. In 2023, Vicki curated a month-long exhibition and public event on immigration justice, "Walk In My Shoes". Also, she has ongoing exhibitions at Plunge Beach Resort, and the L.A. Lee YMCA / Mizell Community Center.

In fiscal years 2021-22 and 2023-24, Vicki Rosenthal received Artist Support Grants from the Broward Cultural Division (BCD). Also in 2022, she was an invited guest speaker at the "BCD Business Skills for the Modern Creator Institute."  

This year, she accepted a position as the Everglades Orchid Chapter Liaison for Artivism: The Power of Art for Social Transformation sponsored by Adelphi University, Sing for Hope, and Gottesman Libraries/Teachers College, Columbia University. Additionally, her "Plunge Into" artwork was chosen as Artivism's featured 2024 Spring poster. 

Growing up in Southeast Georgia, Vicki learned various art forms and techniques, participated in exhibitions, and sold paintings. Through young adulthood, she continued her creative passion, while working a variety of jobs. After earning a master's degree in social work, she launched into advocating for the eradication of HIV/AIDS and human trafficking, and protecting refugees seeking asylum. Additionally, she developed and taught social justice curriculum at Florida Atlantic and was a 2016-2017 PJHR Faculty Fellow. In 2018, her social work focus and art talent came together to form Vicki Rosenthal Art.
