Dr. Carol Bishop Mills is the Associate Director of Faculty Success at Florida Atlantic, where she leads initiatives to enhance faculty development and growth. She is dedicated to supporting faculty at all ranks, from adjuncts to full professors, ensuring tailored guidance for their professional and academic advancement. As a scholar, Dr. Bishop Mills specializes in relational communication, researching complex interpersonal dynamics like teasing, bullying, harassment, and academic bullying. Previously, she served as Director of the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies (SCMS), overseeing programs for over 1,200 students and implementing curricular reforms, including the interdisciplinary Sport Studies minor. Dr. Bishop Mills also co-founded and co-directs the FAU PolCom Lab and supported the creation of The Speaking Center, MediaLab@FAU, and BrandStar Studios at Florida Atlantic. Nationally recognized for her work in anti-bullying, she has served as co-chair of the National Communication Association’s Anti-Bullying Task Force and as Executive Editor for the Global Listening Center’s newsletter.
