Thursday, Apr 27, 2023Florida Atlantic University’s Public Affairs graduate program , which is housed in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters School of Public Administration, ranked No. 72 in the U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Graduate Schools” for 2023 -24 . This is up nine spots from their 2022 -23 ranking of No. 8 1 and up 18 spots from the 20 21-22 ranking of 90 .
Each year, U.S. News ranks professional school programs in public affairs, public health, library and information studies, business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing. The Best Graduate Schools rankings in these areas are based on two types of data: expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. The data comes from statistical surveys of more than 2,125 programs and from reputation surveys sent to more than 23,000 academics and professionals, conducted in fall 202 1 and early 202 2 .
“We are delighted to be recognized by U.S. News and World Report for our excellence in Public Affairs,” said Alka Sapat, director of the School of Public Administration. “I want to congratulate our faculty, students and staff who are among the best in the world. This latest success reflects the University’s commitment to student success and shows we are one of the top places for public affairs.”
The School of Public Administration (SPA) at FAU was founded in 1981. The Master’s degree programs provide professional education to pre-service and in-service students to prepare them to be leaders, managers and analysts in all levels of government and non-profit organizations.
