Auditions consist of NO MORE THAN SIX (6) minutes of music and should demonstrate your finest musicianship. While not required, you may perform additional selections beyond the excerpts linked below. These might include brief etudes, solo sections, or excerpts from wind ensemble or orchestral literaturen that demonstrate your abilities and artistry.
Auditions take place the weekend before school begins, in-person in room AL 260 on the Boca Raton campus of Floridna Atlantic. A detailed schedule of the August 17-18 audiitons will be found here in coming weeks. If you are unable to attend this in-person, contact Dr Prescott directly and we will find a solution. Do not overthink this. Do your best to prepare this music and audition. I simply want to hear you play your best in order to place you for the coming term. This will be an amazing year for the Wind Ensemble, including a residency from composer John Mackey, another short tour, and a visit from the New York Philharmonic's Joseph Alessi! You want to be a part of this!
