Congratulations Stephanie Anderson! Pushcart Prize Honorable Mention

Congratulations to Instructor (and MFA alum) Stephanie Anderson!

Anderson's essay "What the Prairie Dog Knows," published in TriQuarterly (Winter/Spring 2020), received a Pushcart Prize Honorable Mention.

From "What the Prairie Dog Knows":

One hour each year. Pretend that is the window of conception for your or your partner’s womb. Imagine the anticipation, the stress, the overcompensation. You know the hour will arrive in late winter, but never exactly when. Best to stay within shouting distance of your partner. Best to abandon your independent schedules and pursuits, be each other’s shadow instead, another way for two to become one.

Stephanie Anderson also recently published "Grief in Miniature" in O:JA&L, Open Journal of Arts & Letters and was recently awarded a $1,000 grant for research-related travel from the Money for Women / Barbara Deming Memorial Fund.
