Dr. Ricardo E. Barbosa received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the President /Owner of EngSolutions, Inc, a consulting and engineering software company in Fort Lauderdale, founded in 1992, which specializes in structural and geotechnical engineering. During the last 24 years he has amassed significant experience in the design of reinforced concrete buildings, as a consultant to numerous design firms and as the author of EngSolutions RCB, a structural software for analysis and design of reinforced concrete buildings. Such software is used by about 6500 engineering firms and government agencies worldwide, and has been used for the design of a large number of tall buildings in the Americas. He joined FAU in 2015 and teaches Reinforced Concrete Design (Architectural Structures III).
