TWO FAU ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS WON EDITOR’S CHOICE AT THE NEW DENCITIES COMPETITION

Under the supervision of Dr. Shermeen Yousif, Assistant Professor at FAU School of Architecture, two of her Topical Design Studio students won the Editor’s Choice award at the New Dencities Competition. 

The students Cesarina Candelier and Tiffany Taylor won the editor’s choice award, with their project Terra Emergence. The project Terra Emergence is to be set in a post Covid-19 environment where our task is to re-imagine societal norms and create a self-sustained community. Through our proposal we intend to implement sustainable alternatives for energy production & harvesting, as well as the ability to allow for human interactions with others and nature to occur safely, through the use of Artificial Intelligence. The idea of our pre-covid spontaneous activities can be reinvented safely and controlled through the push & pull of walls and individually tailored exterior settings.
