Diego Camargo, a distinguished alumnus of the School of Architecture on the downtown Fort Lauderdale Campus, has taken on the role of FabLab Coordinator and instructor. With a wealth of real-world experience gained from working at established firms in South Florida such as Mateo Architecture and Glavovic Studio, where he worked alongside his mentor Margi Glavovic, Diego is well-equipped to support student success. Throughout his career, he has managed a variety of projects, including the South Expansion of the Miami International Airport and ArtsPark in Young Circle, spanning residential to institutional projects. Diego's research interests include public space, architectural infrastructure, digital tectonics, fabrication, and biomimicry, which he explores through various temporary art installations in the Wynwood Art District, Miami. In addition to his impressive work experience, he has earned a master's degree in Advanced Architecture (Post Professional) from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia Barcelona, Spain. According to Diego, putting in hard work to execute something nice and attractive builds self-esteem and inspires a drive to continue to create interesting things.
