Reimagining Vacant Spaces: FAU SOA's Innovative Approach to Tackling the Affordable Housing Crisis

Florida Atlantic University's School of Architecture has partnered with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and Glavovic Studio to address the U.S. affordable housing crisis. The collaboration focuses on adaptive reuse of vacant buildings for housing, offering innovative design solutions. FAU students have developed a guidebook to identify suitable properties and created architectural proposals for South Florida, leveraging the state's new Live Local Act. This initiative aims to inspire sustainable, affordable housing models across the U.S.
