How can I visit the Florida Atlantic main campus in Boca Raton?

We love visitors, and offer a variety of ways for prospective students and families to visit campus, including:

The main Boca Raton campus is located at 777 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Tours begin at the Student Support Services Building (SU-80)

Am I allowed to bring my pet when I visit campus?

No. Animals are not permitted on university property, including on tours and at events, except for service animals required to assist individuals who are physically disabled or impaired.

Per Florida Atlantic University policy 5.27.1, only service animals are permitted inside facilities. 

Is water provided on tours?
Water is not provided, and we encourage all tour participants to bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. There are several filling stations along the tour route.
I require ADA accommodations for my visit. How many I request them?
Disability accommodations can be requested when you register for a campus visit or by contacting the Admissions office at 561-297-3040 or visit@fau.edu. Please place your request at least ten days prior to your visit for mobility and visual impairment assistance or for American Sign Language interpreting services.

What is the format of the campus tour?

Campus tours are walking tours, so we encourage visitors to wear comfortable shoes.

I am interested in visiting the Wilkes Honors College campus in Jupiter. Do they offer tours?
Absolutely! We highly encourage students interested in our all-honors experience to visit Florida Atlantic's Wilkes Honors College, which is located about 45 minutes north of our main Boca Raton campus at 5353 Parkside Dr, Jupiter, FL 33458.

Can I show up for a tour without prior registration?

Prior registration is required for all in-person tours, and we are unable to accommodate any walk-in registrations or add guests beyond our capacity.

Tours fill up fast. We recommend checking tour availability periodically, as cancellations may open up additional spots available for registration. While we do not operate a tour waiting list, we will add more spaces where possible to meet the high demand to visit Florida Atlantic.

Where should I park for a campus visit?
Boca Raton campus: Visitor parking is available in Lot 16 and Lot 18, next to the Student Services Building (SU-80). Parking is $2 per hour; payment is accepted via credit card at the meter  or via the ParkMobile app. Please do not pull through or back into the parking spaces. Your rear license plate must be visible to FAU parking staff for our license plate reader technology. Metered Parking is enforced 24/7.


Wilkes Honors College:
Visitors should park in Lot 70 (Visitor Parking) for campus tours. The Wilkes Honors College is located at 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter, FL 33458, on our Jupiter campus.

Do you offer events for prospective students?

Yes! All prospective students and families are invited to join us on our main Boca Raton campus for Explore FAU, a fantastic university-wide event held each spring and fall.  

Students interested in our all-honors experience are also welcome to attend the Wilkes Honors College Open House, hosted each fall on our Jupiter campus.

At each event, students will have the opportunity to: 

  • Meet faculty, staff, and current students  
  • Tour campus and first-year residence halls 
  • Learn about academic programs and student organizations 
  • Ask admissions and financial aid questions 
Do tours still take place if it is raining?

Tours will proceed rain or shine, except in the case of lightning or other extreme weather. As our tours include walking around our South Florida campuses, we recommend bringing an umbrella if inclement weather is forecast.

If inclement weather requires tours to be canceled, our office will reach out to those with booked reservations via text and email.

Are weapons permitted on campus?

No. In accordance with Sections 790.115 and 790.251, Florida Statutes, persons other than law enforcement officers are prohibited from possessing firearms and weapons on school campuses. This policy applies even if an individual has a concealed carry permit.

This prohibition includes all weapons other than ordinary pocketknives, legitimate tools needed to complete work on campus, and other limited exceptions defined in this policy. This prohibition includes firearms or weapons located anywhere on a University campus or facility or University event, including on one’s person, in a motor vehicle (other than as permitted by Section 790.25(5)), in an office, or in a residence hall or on-campus apartment. Questions should be directed to the FAU Police Department.
