No. Animals are not permitted on university property, including on tours and at events, except for service animals required to assist individuals who are physically disabled or impaired.
Per Florida Atlantic University policy 5.27.1, only service animals are permitted inside facilities.
Specific questions about disability accommodations should be directed towards Florida Atlantic University Student Accessibility Services.
Campus tours are walking tours, so we encourage visitors to wear comfortable shoes.
Prior registration is required for all in-person tours, and we are unable to accommodate any walk-in registrations or add guests beyond our capacity.
Tours fill up fast. We recommend checking tour availability periodically, as cancellations may open up additional spots available for registration. While we do not operate a tour waiting list, we will add more spaces where possible to meet the high demand to visit Florida Atlantic.

Yes! All prospective students and families are invited to join us on our main Boca Raton campus for Explore FAU, a fantastic university-wide event held each spring and fall.
Students interested in our all-honors experience are also welcome to attend the Wilkes Honors College Open House, hosted each fall on our Jupiter campus.
At each event, students will have the opportunity to:
- Meet faculty, staff, and current students
- Tour campus and first-year residence halls
- Learn about academic programs and student organizations
- Ask admissions and financial aid questions
Tours will proceed rain or shine, except in the case of lightning or other extreme weather. As our tours include walking around our South Florida campuses, we recommend bringing an umbrella if inclement weather is forecast.
If inclement weather requires tours to be canceled, our office will reach out to those with booked reservations via text and email.
