Application Deadlines

Your First-Year application for admission to Florida Atlantic University is an application for admission and merit-based scholarships.

Applications, including all supporting materials and test scores, must be received by the dates below for consideration. 

Based on the competitiveness of the applicant pool, an applicant may be offered admission to a term other than the requested entry term on the application. Our admitted student profiles and entrance programs can be viewed here.

Please keep in mind that when requesting electronic transcripts from other institutions, it may take 5-7 business days for FAU to receive the requested items.

*Glossary of Terms

• Early Action: An application option that allows students to apply by October 15 and receive an admission decision by December 13.
• Regular Decision: An application option that involves applying by March 14 in exchange for a rolling admission decision.
• Admit: A student that has been formally approved and acknowledged as having been granted admission to their academic programs.
• Waitlist: A group of students held in reserve after a college makes its admissions decisions. If openings occur, students on the waitlist may be offered admission.
• Deny: An admission outcome wherein a student was unable to be offered admission.
• Defer: An admission outcome wherein a student who has applied for early admission is not accepted or rejected, rather their application is reconsidered within the Regular Decision pool.
• Defer Decision: Where a student can submit updated grades or test scores by February 15 to considered for an admissions decision.
