Terry C. Mena is the Associate Dean of Students for Florida Atlantic University. He is also an Adjunct Instructor with the department of Freshman Academic Services. Mr. Mena received a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Minor Degree in Latino/a, Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Northeastern University. He received his master's in Student Personnel Administration from Columbia University Teacher’s College. Mr. Mena is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Higher Education Leadership program at Florida Atlantic University.
Mr. Mena’s career began at Hofstra University in the Upward Bound Program. He continued his higher education career at Northeastern University where he served as a Resident Director for Housing and Residential Life & Assistant Director for Latino Student Cultural Center. He then moved on to Florida Atlantic University, where he served as a Coordinator for Housing & Residential Life & Associate Director for Student Affairs-Broward Campuses. In his role of Associate Dean of Students at FAU, he supervises the departments of Student Government and Student Media.
Mr. Mena served in leadership roles in the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). Most recently, he participated in the NASPA Senior Student Affairs Officers’ Institute and as a faculty member for the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program, Summer Leadership Institute. He also presented on the subject of diversity, leadership, student conduct, program development and other student developmental topics on a local, state and national level.
