Accounts / FAUNet ID

The FAUNet ID is the account name you will use to login to many of the systems you will utilize in your daily life at Florida Atlantic University. It is a part of your official FAU e-mail address (e.g., FAUNetID@fau.edu). All students, faculty and staff are automatically granted a FAUNet ID and may claim their account by logging into the MyFAU portal. While many online services provided by the University require a separate password, OIT is working to synchronize these passwords while striving to improve the security of the system.

FAUNET ID Changes

The original FAUNetID (username) is not subject to change. The only two exceptions are if an error was made in the spelling of your name that affected the FAUNet ID assigned to you or if you have legally changed your name. Prior to changing your FAUNet ID, you must have had your legal name change recorded in the University’s database. Faculty and staff need to contact Human Resources; students need to contact the Registrar’s Office. Once your name has been officially changed, you may request the FAUNet ID change through the online Help Desk, (http://helpdesk.fau.edu)

When you activate your account thru MyFAU (http://myfau.fau.edu) and change your password — that will make it your single password for most FAU services. The updated password will automatically work with the following FAU services and more!

Retired Faculty

Retiring faculty are eligible to keep their FAU email after leaving the University. This request is made with Human Resources upon the exit interview.
