FAU Receives $250,000 Gift from MCNA Dental Founders, the Honorable Dr. Jeffrey Feingold and the Honorable Barbara Feingold

BOCA RATON, Fla. (January 28, 2013) – Florida Atlantic University recently received a gift of $250,000 from the founders of MCNA Dental, the Honorable Dr. Jeffrey Feingold, chairman and chief executive officer; and his wife, the Honorable Barbara S. Feingold. Dr. Feingold is a member of the Board of Trustees of FAU. In appreciation, the Board of Trustees Room on the Boca Raton campus will be renamed the “The Dr. Jeffrey P. Feingold Board Room.”

“We are extremely grateful to the Feingolds for their generosity,” said FAU President Mary Jane Saunders. “As a Board member, Dr. Feingold has set a wonderful example with this gift. We truly appreciate the Feingolds’ support of FAU, and feel that it is most appropriate that the Board of Trustees has named The Dr. Jeffrey P. Feingold Board Room in his honor.”

Dr. Feingold is the founder, president and chief executive officer of MCNA Dental Plans, a Florida-based Dental Managed Care Organization. He also is the founder, president and chief executive officer of The Dentaland Organization, which owns and operates seven comprehensive dental healthcare facilities from Aventura to Melbourne, Florida. Dr. Feingold developed MCNA Dental into one of the country’s leading dental managed care companies by administering dental health programs for children’s Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Plans (CHIP) and Medicare. He has led his companies through a long and sustained period of growth and prosperity.

“From those to whom much is given, much is expected,” said Dr. Feingold. “My wife Barbara and I are proud to contribute our time and resources to improve the quality and availability of educational opportunities for our fellow Floridians.”

Barbara S. Feingold is a member of the Florida State Board of Education. She is vice president and director of Fort Lauderdale-based MCNA Health Care Holdings LLC, one of the largest providers of Medicaid, CHIP and commercial dental insurance in the United States. She also serves on the Board of Directors of MCNA Dental Insurance Company and has served in various executive capacities with Dentaland Dental Centers. Mrs. Feingold is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, chair of the King David Society, vice president of board development for the Levis Jewish Community Center in Boca Raton, past president of the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center in North Miami Beach, and was the recipient of the Stanley C. Myers Presidents’ Leadership Award from the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

The Board Room, which is located in the Kenneth R. Williams Administration building, one of the original buildings at FAU, serves as the primary meeting site for the University Board of Trustees and hosts many other important University meetings and functions. It will be renovated and enhanced with improved technology, finishes and furnishings. Upon completion, FAU will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the new room.
