FAU Calendar of Events for the Week of December 19, 2011

JUPITER, FL (December 19, 2011) – Florida Atlantic University will host the following events:
‘Flightscapes,’ a Ceramics and Photo Exhibition at FAU

The free exhibition runs from Friday, January 6, 2012 through Friday, March 9, 2012 at FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus Library Gallery, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter. Fo r more information, call 561-799-8530 or visit www.library.fau.edu/npb/npb.htm .


Birds and nature are common threads in this show, which features ceramics by Karla Walter, who is the curator of the Eissey Art Gallery at Palm Beach State College (PBSC), and photographs by Dennis Tishkowsky, a photography instructor at PBSC and John I. Leonard High School. The library’s hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 to 11 p.m.  



FAU Hosts ‘Sacred Salvage,’ a Jewelry Design Exhibition

This mixed media jewelry design exhibition by Karen McGovern, a conservation biologist and jewelry designer, features dramatic necklaces and pendants that were inspired by nature.
The library’s hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12:30 to 11 p.m.
