FAU Calendar of Events for the Week of October 8

'Green Market @ FAU’

FAU Mission Green and Inika Foods will host the next green market on Thursday, October 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at FAU Stadium Plaza, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. For more information, call 561-297-0197 or visit .

‘Green Market @ FAU’ is an on-campus green market held weekly on Thursdays and is free and open to the public.  The market features local vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, organic products and handmade crafts and jewelry in addition to wellness activities such as yoga.


‘Book Arts 101: Hist Whist’ Returns to Jaffe Center at FAU Library

The course will be taught on
Saturday, October 20, from 1 to 4:30 p.m., at FAU’s Arthur and Mata Jaffe Center for Book Arts at the Wimberly Library, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. Registration is open for “Book Arts 101: Hist Whist,” a popular Halloween version of a 3½-hour introduction immersion book arts course that John Cutrone, director of the Arthur and Mata Jaffe Center for Book Arts, offers at the center. The course’s setting will feature the magic of E.E. Cummings’ popular children’s poem titled “Hist Whist” and will feature Halloween decorations, spooky books and ghost stories. Participants will watch a 25-minute video about the Jaffe Center’s collection, use historic wood type to print paper and bind books with a single signature pamphlet stitch.
