‘G.I. Jobs’ Magazine Names FAU to its 2012 List of Military Friendly Schools

BOCA RATON, FL (September 12, 2011) – Florida Atlantic University was named to G.I. Jobs magazine’s list of Military Friendly Schools for 2012, based on research and a recent survey conducted of more than 8,000 schools. This honor ranks FAU in the top 20 percent of all colleges, universities and trade schools nationwide.

“The faculty and staff of FAU take as much pride in serving our military and veteran students as these students did in serving our country,” said Charles Brown, senior vice president for student affairs at FAU. “They deserve all the opportunities that higher education has to offer.”

FAU was recognized based on its financial as well as non-financial efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students; actual success in recruiting and retaining military and veteran students; as well as FAU’s academic accreditations.

The designation will be noted in G.I. Jobs “2012 Guide to Military Friendly Schools,” as well as at, a  website that military and veteran students can use to search for higher education institutions that match their individual preferences.

G.I. Jobs magazine is published by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  The company also publishes Military Spouse and Vetrepreneur magazines.
