FAU Jupiter’s Lifelong Learning Society Presents Rabbi Marvin Hier, Founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance

JUPITER, FL (March 12, 2012) - Florida Atlantic University’s Lifelong Learning Society Jupiter will present an exclusive film premiere, It Is No Dream: The Life of Theodor Herzel, with a  presentation by Rabbi Marvin Hier, on Tuesday, March  28, at 7 p.m., in the Lifelong Learning Society complex at FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus, 5353 Parkside Drive, Jupiter.

The film, It Is No Dream, explores the life and times of the father of the modern state of Israel, Theodor Herzl. Rabbi Hier will introduce the film and then facilitate a question and answer session following the film. 

Rabbi Hier, created the Simon Wiesenthal Center, which under his leadership, has become one of the foremost Jewish human rights agencies in the world, with a constituency of more than 400,000 families and with offices throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Israel and Argentina. Rabbi Hier founded Moriah Films, the Center’s documentary film division, and has received two Academy Awards, in 1997 as a co-producer of The Long Way Home, and in 1981 as co-producer and co-writer of Genocide. Under his direction, the Center served as consultant to Steven Spielberg’s epic Schindler’s List and ABC Television’s adaptation of Herman Wouk’s War and Remembrance.
