“When identifying the business leader of the year, the College of Business looks for that exemplary individual who exhibits vision, innovation, and leadership,” said Daniel Gropper, Ph.D., dean of FAU’s College of Business. “Jordan Zimmerman exemplifies these qualities and more as both a visionary leader and philanthropist committed to education and social responsibility.”
Zimmerman founded his agency in 1984 in a 400-square-foot office at a Fort Lauderdale strip mall. He trademarked his marketing method of Brandtailing ® and over time built a $3-billion-a-year firm. Zimmerman also founded the Zimmerman Advertising Program in the School of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida. The five-year program is where students may earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree through the collaborative efforts of USF’s College of Business Marketing Department and the School of Mass Communications in the College of Arts and Sciences. He serves on the USF Board of Trustees, and acts as trustee for Pine Crest School where he built the Zimmerman Family Athletic Complex.
