FAU University Club Hosts Sunday Brunch Fundraiser

BOCA RATON, Fla. (February 7, 2013) – The University Club of Florida Atlantic University recently celebrated Florida’s 500th anniversary with the “Fountain of Youth” Sunday Brunch to benefit FAU Libraries and the student scholarship fund. The brunch took place at The Addison, one of the oldest buildings in Boca Raton.

The event featured music from FAU’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters, including singing conquistadors and a jazz quartet, as well as special Fountains of Youth and a silent auction. Bob and Regina Vetto served as honorary chairs of the event, and author and historian Sandy Simon was the honorary guest.

“I’d like to thank everyone who attended our ‘Fountain of Youth’ fundraiser,” said Alene Brewer, University Club president. “The music students put on a wonderful show, and we enjoyed hosting this event to raise funds for student scholarships and FAU Libraries.”

The University Club, founded in 1976, develops and implements fundraising projects and encourages its members to give of their time, talent and energy to help achieve the goals of FAU. The organization has contributed more than $400,000 to student scholarships and more than $500,000 to FAU Libraries.
