FAU Concert Celebrates Purim with Klezmer East and the Boca Raton Symphonia
BOCA RATON (February 23, 2012) –Florida Atlantic University’s department of music in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters will present a concert celebrating Purim on Sunday, March 11 at 3 p.m. in the University Theatre, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus.
The concert will include traditional energetic Klezmer and powerful Jewish art music performed by the world-renowned Klezmer East ensemble and the world-class Boca Raton Symphonia — an orchestra of "fervor and refinement" — according to the Miami Herald. The concert will include music never before performed in South Florida, including works by Ofer Ben-Amots and Erich Korngold.
