FAU to Celebrate Fall Commencement
BOCA RATON, FL (December 6, 2010) – Florida Atlantic University will confer more than 2,550 degrees on Thursday and Friday, December 9 and 10. The ceremonies are scheduled for 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Friday in the Carole and Barry Kaye Auditorium, FAU Student Union, 777 Glades Road. These students will join more than 118,000 alumni who have graduated from FAU since the University opened its doors.
The 1 p.m. ceremony on Friday will honor Dr. Richard J. Staller, Delray Beach dentist, with the President’s Distinguished Service Medallion. Staller donated thousands of hours of his time and expertise to provide dental care to FAU’s student-athletes as the athletics department’s first and only dentist. A recognized expert in his field, Staller has appeared on both network and cable television, and has implemented a custom mouth guard program for the athletes. Staller is one of the original 100 Football Founders to launch FAU’s football program.
