FAU Designates September as Safety
A Wide Variety of Safety Events to Take Place on FAU Campuses
BOCA RATON, FL (August 27, 2010) – Florida Atlantic University has designated September as Safety Month and will host a series of events beginning Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 30 on the University’s Boca Raton, Broward, Jupiter and Treasure Coast campuses.
FAU’s faculty, staff and students are encouraged to participate in a variety of events related to safety. The events will focus on topics such as healthy lifestyles, personal property security, social networking safety, CPR, defensive driving, fire prevention, alcohol and drug abuse, date rape, and hurricane preparedness and recovery. There also will be demonstrations from FAU police, the Palm Beach County Health Department, . FAU’s department of environmental health and safety, the American Red Cross, State Farm Insurance and others. Events will include a safety fair, residence hall health inspection, FAU emergency alert test, fire drills, as well as safety lectures.
