FAU’s Dining Services Honored with Center for Excellence Award
BOCA RATON, FL (August 27, 2009) – Florida Atlantic University’s Dining Services, recently was honored by the Compass Group organization with a Center for Excellence Award.
To become a Center for Excellence recipient, the Chartwells location must meet more than 300 criterions outlined on its Business Excellence Quality Audit. The specific operational guidelines and standards include quality assurance, safety and sanitation, human resources, financial performance, merchandising and marketing. As a result of this award, FAU Dining Services will now serve as a regional training center.
“This is a very important accomplishment for food services here at FAU. We understand how important support services and amenities such as our dining program are for the University,” said Stacy Volnick, director of business services for FAU. “Our commitment is to our students, first and foremost, as well as the entire FAU community. They continue to drive us to look for ways to improve and make sure that students are receiving a quality education in a first-class learning environment.”
The Center for Excellence Award has been awarded to 12 other universities in the country. The award serves as a pinnacle of excellence throughout the Compass Group providing best practices, innovative new programs, superior service and great food.
